Research focus is on Latin American literature and culture, Latinx studies, and border and memory studies. Recently presented, “Language and Social Justice: Cristina Rivera Garza and Academic Activism” at the National Women’s Studies Association (NWSA) conference and “Intercultural Tales: Learning with Baltimore’s Immigrant Communities” at the Latin American Studies Association (LASA) conference. Member of UMBC’s Women’s Center Advisory Board and UMBC”s Latino/Hispanic Faculty Association.
