More than 30 years of experience as the PI of a laboratory studying the immune system’s response to malignancies with a long-term goal of manipulating an individual’s immune response to reject cancer cells. Serves as a research mentor for Meyerhoff and MARC undergraduate students and underrepresented minority Ph.D. students. On the steering committee for the UMBC MARC-U-Star program. Informal mentor to junior women faculty in STEM.
