Research focus is on social reproduction, transnationalism, the gendered effects of migration, and South Asian diasporas. Teaches courses on gender and globalization, feminism, and South Asia. Co-chair of the South Asian American Digital Archive Academic Council. Author of High-tech Housewives: Indian IT Workers, Gendered Labor, and Transmigration (2018) and co-author of Roots and Reflections: South Asians in the Pacific Northwest (2013).
