Research focus is on computational and systems biology in order to discover the regulatory mechanisms of development, metabolism, and diseases such as cancer with novel automatic computational methods. Work has received widespread media coverage including PBS, Wired, TechRadar, and Popular Mechanics. Research mentor for UMBC’s Meyerhoff and MARC undergraduate students and member of the Latino and Hispanic Faculty Association.
