Associate Professor of Education, Affiliate Faculty Sherman Center for Early Learning in Urban Communities

Research focuses on children’s spirituality, bilingual/bicultural education, moral education. Recently conducted a two-day professional development workshop on Translanguaging for the Teacher Summer Institute for Baltimore City Public School Early Childhood Educators sponsored by the UMBC Sherman Center for Early Learning in Urban Communities which was a great success. Member of the executive committee member for the Latino/Hispanic Faculty Association (LHFA) at UMBC, facilitator for the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)’s Young Children’s Spirituality Interest Forum (YCSIF) and will be representing them at this year’s Equity and Social Justice Summit, taking place in Nashville, TN November 2019.
